Platform Rules, User Conduct, and Community Standards for Hoesit

Hoesit was created for positive South African connection, local discovery, and celebrating our rich communities and local enterprise.
💡 Community Culture Note: If anyone is looking to whine, divide people, troll, or start toxic political fights — please head over to Facebook or Instagram. Hoesit is strictly reserved for positive vibes and community empowerment!
1. Zero-Tolerance Community Standards (Strictly Enforced)
To preserve a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment for all South Africans, the following violations result in immediate permanent account termination:
- 🚫 Zero Tolerance for Racism & Hate Speech: Any racism, xenophobia, discrimination, derogatory slurs, or harassment will result in an immediate permanent ban.
- 🚫 No Political Party Posts: Hoesit is not a political soapbox. Partisan political campaigns, party promotions, or divisive political agenda posts are strictly prohibited.
- 🚫 No News Agency Scraping / Sensationalism: Hoesit is for authentic real people and local business discovery — not for re-posting tabloid news, rage-bait headlines, or news agency scraping.
- 🚫 No Adult, Sexual, or Explicit Content: Absolutely NO pornography, nudity, sexually suggestive imagery, or explicit services. Hoesit is a clean, all-ages safe platform.
2. User-Generated Content (UGC) & Anti-Spam
- You retain ownership of the photos, text, and videos you create and share.
- By posting publicly, you grant Hoesit a non-exclusive license to host and display your content to other users on the platform.
- Spam, automated bots, mass scraping, phishing, or financial scams are strictly forbidden.
3. Business Directory, Advertising & Boost Policies
- Business listings must contain authentic contact information, genuine pricing, and legitimate descriptions of products or services offered.
- Fraudulent business listings, trademark infringement, or deceptive advertising will result in immediate removal without refund.
- Prohibited Products & Services: Hoesit strictly prohibits the advertisement, sale, or promotion of illegal items, firearms/weapons, narcotics or prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco/vaping products, adult/pornographic goods or services, counterfeit items, gambling, or unregulated financial schemes.
- Transactions executed between buyers and listed merchants remain solely between those respective parties.
4. Refund & Cancellation Policy for Boosted & Sponsored Posts
- Strict 48-Hour Refund Cutoff: There are strictly NO refunds of ads after 48 hours from the time the ad is launched and live on Hoesit.
- Cancellations Within 48 Hours: If you request cancellation of your ad within the initial 48-hour window from launch, a slight cancellation administrative fee will apply, plus deduction of the prorated rate for the exact duration the ad was actively displayed and online on Hoesit. Any remaining balance will be refunded via the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
- Pending / Pre-Launch Cancellations: If an ad campaign is cancelled before it goes live, a full (100%) refund will be issued promptly.
- Policy Violations: Ads submitted that violate our community standards or contain prohibited content will be rejected. If an ad is rejected during review, the payment will be promptly refunded.
- How to Cancel: To cancel an ad campaign, manage it directly via your Hoesit Ads Manager or contact our billing team at team@hoesit.co.za with your Ad Campaign ID.
5. Content Moderation & Acceptable Use Policy
Hoesit employs a multi-tiered content moderation system to ensure platform safety:
- Automated Pre-Filtering: Content submission endpoints utilize automated text, keyword, and media security filters to prevent offensive text, explicit imagery, and malicious file uploads in real time.
- Community Reporting: Users can flag and report any post, comment, or ad directly through the app interface for immediate review.
- Human Administrative Review: Our administrative moderation team actively reviews flagged items, reported users, and ad campaigns to ensure ongoing adherence to our standards. Violating content is removed immediately.
6. Platform Liability Disclaimers
Hoesit is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While our moderation systems and security guards actively monitor the network, Hoesit (Pty) Ltd is not liable for independent user comments or external transactions. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
